Judas in Their Heart and Soul

Plastic minions with knives behind their backs
Hide behind their own shadows
Covering their tracks
Friend or foe?
Even they don’t know
The difference

Up the ladder is where they need to go
swinging and swinging the hammer
On fingers below
Watch them fall
They don’t care at all
About them

And if they died tomorrow what would it all be for?
Would the world be a better place than it ever was before?
You tried it once to play their game
But its rules and yours will never be the same
Close the curtains and lock the door
Crawl inside the crevice in the floor
Days forgotten and so many tales untold
Of Judas in their heart and soul

Hiding behind power they hold up high
Little cowards with big guns
It doesn’t matter why
What’s it for?
All they want is more
Always more

Paralyzed by their quest to have it all
Never finding real happiness
Their hearts are far too small
Will they see
What there is for free?
No way out

And if you died tomorrow what would it all be for?
Would the world be a better place than it ever was before?
You’ll never learn to play their game
Because its rules and yours can never be the same
Open the curtains and unlock the door
Walk out in the open across the floor
Days forgotten and so many tales untold
Of Judas in their heart and soul

Judas in their heart
And Judas in their soul
Judas in their heart and soul
